Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is an excellent alternative to dental veneers for repairing teeth that are cracked, chipped, discolored, or misaligned. At Pearly Whites Dental Studio, we utilize dental bonding to enhance the appearance and function of your teeth.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding involves the application of a tooth-colored resin to repair and improve the aesthetics of a tooth. This cosmetic procedure is frequently used to cover chipped teeth, close gaps, and as an alternative to traditional fillings.

During the dental bonding process, the surface of the tooth is lightly etched, and a bonding liquid is applied. Once the liquid sets, a plastic resin is applied and sculpted to the desired shape. After the resin hardens, it is trimmed, smoothed, and polished to achieve a natural look.

  • How long does dental bonding last?

Dental bonding can last between 3 to 10 years, depending on how well you care for your teeth and the location of the bonded tooth. Good oral hygiene practices, such as regular brushing and flossing, along with avoiding hard or sticky foods, can help extend the lifespan of dental bonding.

  • Is dental bonding covered by insurance?

The coverage for dental bonding by insurance varies. Generally, if the bonding is done for restorative purposes, such as filling a cavity, it may be covered. However, if it’s purely for cosmetic reasons, it’s less likely to be covered. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage. We also offer membership savings plans to make services like dental bonding more affordable, even without insurance coverage.

  • Does dental bonding hurt?

Dental bonding is usually a painless procedure, since it usually doesn’t require anesthesia unless it’s being used to fill a decayed tooth. Patients might experience minor sensitivity after the procedure, but this typically doesn’t last long. The entire process is straightforward and comfortable for most patients.
